Adele is the queen of records. We’re still celebrating her achievements as a record breaking album artist and the artist to get the most views on YouTube within a short period of time. However she has also broken a new record! Adele’s Carpool Karaoke with James Corden on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” has become the most-watched late-night clip ever, CBS announced on Wednesday.
To date, the video has around 70 million views. The video was released on January 13, 2016 and within five days of its release, the video got over 42 million views.
In a conversation with Entertainment Weekly, James Corden said that it was the sense of comfort he offers to the celebrities that made the segment successful. He said:
“There’s an ease and an intimacy to it where you’d never ever see stars quite so unguarded,” Corden said. “I’m different from when I’m doing the show when there’s an audience of 200. Seeing a huge megastar sing their hits in the same environment that you and I sing on our way to work — it’s humanizing.”
Carpool Karaoke is a segment in The Late Late Show with James Corden where the host James Corden takes the celebrity on a road trip followed by a sing along session and a candid conversation.
