In case you’ve been under a rock the past few days, August Alsina basically broke the internet when he confirmed the suspected relationship between him and Jada Pinkett Smith. He took it a step further when he said that he actually sat down with Will Smith who approved of the romance.
For the past few years, there has been speculation about Alsina’s close relationship with the Smiths. What seemed to be a motherly position for Jada was soon seen as more than that.
The R&B artist has been through the wringer in his personal life which has interfered with his music career. Now that he has a new album out titled The Product III State of Emergency, he is able to speak his truth through music and promotion.
In an interview with Angela Yee, he shares the pain he’s faced over the last few years concerning the passing of family members and his health. However, the most talked-about subject is that he fully loved Jada.
Both Will and Jada’s reps have stated that he is not telling the truth.
The Set It Off star even announced that she would be discussing the drama on an upcoming episode of Red Table Talk.
After trending on social media for days, August took to Instagram to stand firmly in his confession.
He wrote in a lengthy Instagram post, in part: ‘God said, We may grow weary and tired fighting in the fire, but we shall NOT be burned! The journey to freedom is a deeply complex, tricky, and turbulent road to tow; yet very necessary. Oppression comes in so many forms these days, beginning w/ physical slavery and bondage to the white man, then passed down generational programming that manifest into mental enslavement.’

Alsina went on to speak about enslavement and freedom.
He ended his message with: ‘My heart has no malice or hate toward anyone on this planet. I just simply want the chains off & I’m willing to DIE getting there. The gift of freedom is yours to have, God promises us that, but only if you’re willing. &God is not a man that HE should lie.. & I’m His SON, so neither would I. 🙏🏽 W/ that being said i should also say that, no one was side swiped by any conversation, everyone got courtesy calls time in advance.
