Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Distance Themselves From New Tell-All Book

The first excerpt from the new tell-all book Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family has been revealed. But, contrary to recent reports, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had no involvement with the biography that details the couple’s exit from the royal family.

Ahead of the book’s release, a rep for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex says that the couple did not take part in the bio written by journalists Carolyn Durand and Omid Scobie. However, they did not deny the book’s content.

Prince William infuriated Prince Harry when he told his younger brother he should move slowly in his relationship with Meghan Markle, fearing that he was being "blindsided by lust," a new book on the Windsors says https://t.co/9Ui1lpehev

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not interviewed and did not contribute to Finding Freedom,” the spokesperson told Page Six. “This book is based on the authors’ own experiences as members of the royal press corps and their own independent reporting.”

The book’s description promises that for the very first time, readers will get to go “beyond the headlines” to find out unknown details of Harry and Meghan’s life together. The authors promise to dispel “the many rumors and misconceptions that plague the couple on both sides of the pond.”

Durrand and Scobie claim in the book that Prince Harry wanted out of the royal family long before he met Markle, and he was the driving force behind Megxit. An insider told the authors that “fundamentally, Harry wanted out,” and he was always struggling deep down within the royal world.

“I don’t need to have that movie moment where we get out of a car and wave to a hundred photographers before going into a building,” Harry allegedly told a friend when he and Meghan were in Canada last year. “It should just be about the work happening inside. Let’s focus on what really matters.”

There were many other revelations from Durrand and Scobie that were teased in an excerpt published in The Times of London. They claim that the “old guard” in the palace felt that Harry and Meghan “needed to be reined in” after becoming international sensations more famous than Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The authors also claim that Harry didn’t feel protected by his family, and he was considered to be “too sensitive and outspoken.” He also tried to protect Markle from the palace “old guard” because many didn’t like her, and they would “stop at nothing to make her life difficult.”

Meghan Markle also told her friends that the criticism she suffered at the hands of the UK tabloids after marrying Prince Harry was like “death by a thousand cuts.”
